to Colorado

Day 4, Tue. From Wakeena, KS to Vegas is about 1054 miles. I could do it in 2 days and be there Wed. night, leaving a whole day Thursday to myself before meeting the guys on Friday. Maybe do Grand Canyon on Thursday? Anyway, shooting for Grand Junction, CO today (just outside a place called Clifton).

I'm not familiar with Colorado/Utah area. Anybody with suggestions on places/things must see on the way (I70 West) shoot me a comment. I'll read it tonight. Control Center Cristy mentioned Buffalo Bill's grave in Denver. Gonna try to hit that.

  1. Danny, i have to say that your writing it's been very inspirational and your descriptions of the trip does convey a clear picture in mind. Pretty good keep up the good work!! You should consider sending this story to backroads magazine or any of those publications that invite riders to submit their biker journey stories, seriously!! they would probably publish it, make sure you take pictures!!! of everything even little bars and restaurants that you stop at signs, skulls..lol other bikers, the land, the trees old gas station..ect!! lov ya keep the rubber up!!!

  3. Hi Danny,

When I first heard you were riding alone I thought that was cool. After reading your blog, I'm even more impressed. Exciting!!! Keep writing.
Here are some ideas for Colorado:
(of course I do not know if any of these are in your route, but these are places my kids and other family members have visited while traveling West).

    1. Mesa Verde

    2. Rocky Mountain National Park
    3. Durango is southwest Colorado's largest town, with a population of approximately 15,000. Those who live here choose to live here, and understand the meaning and importance of quality of life. Thus, the community reflects the energy, contrast, and diversity of the surrounding geography.

    Have Fun - Isabel
